Product lines include capacitors, inductors, ferrite beads, EMI filters, surge absorbers, resistors, thermistors, piezo products, ferrite cores and magnets, resonators and LC filters, functional modules and DC-DC converters, and LCD backlight drivers. The Recordable Media Group offers high-quality CD-R and DVD-Rs.

 

UTY is a wholly owned subsidiary of Taiyo Yuden, a Japanese company.  UTY manages all sales, distribution and related operations for North and South America.  The US corporate head quarter is located in Solana Beach, California in North County San Diego.  The company has sales offices throughout the US and operates warehouses in Torrance, California, Tijuana, Mexico and Hong Kong, China.

 

Business Analysis Opportunity

This person will provide overall support for the Business Analysis (BA) and Customer Service (CSR) groups in order to improve operations productivity and procedures.   The mission is to achieve customer satisfaction at the highest level.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ability to analyze and interpret data to upper management.  Must have advanced EXCEL skills and able to manipulate data accurately.

 

  1. Initial inventory control task will include the analysis of raw customer data and effectively presenting required information to upper management.

 

  1. Weekly monitoring on inventory of VMI sites.  Maintain accurate inventory control.

 

  1. Coordinate and conduct periodic Physical Inventory counts of off-site warehouses and consignment hubs.  Occasional travel may be required to conduct counts.

 

  1. Troubleshoot and assist management on inter-departmental roles and responsibilities.  Various types of reporting as requested by BA management.

 

  1. Update material information in SAP.  Knowledge of Material Master Module is preferred.

 

  1. Provides comprehensive analytical and systematic support by providing SAP training (e.g. Logistics execution procedures) to CSR members.

 

  1. Evaluate current work procedures and evaluate efficiency for CSR employees.

 

  1. Work closely with IS (Information Systems) department, and attend weekly meetings.  Test new programs created by the IS department.

 

  1. Project Management: follow through and implementation on projects assigned to improve Taiyo Yuden business.

 

  1. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.   

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.       Must know advanced EXCEL/ACCESS functions for reporting functions.

2.       Must have 3 + years of SAP experience in master data.

3.       Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.

4.       Fundamental knowledge of business concepts /terminology, and basic customer service techniques.

5.       Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in accordance with deadlines.

6.       Proficiency is required in the following computer software programs: SAP, Word, Excel, and Power Point, Outlook.

7.       Strong written and oral communication skills.

8.       Ability to communicate with co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.  Plus capable of working under direct supervision.

9.       EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
