Taiyo Yuden produces surface-mount and leaded passive electronic components as well as functional modules that incorporate active components. UTY is a wholly owned subsidiary of Taiyo Yuden, a Japanese company.  UTY manages all sales, distribution and related operations for North and South America.  The US corporate head quarter is located in Solana Beach, California in North County San Diego.  The company has sales offices throughout the US and operates warehouses in Torrance, California, Tijuana, Mexico and Hong Kong, China.

 

Customer Service Representative Opportunity

This person will be responsible for managing Customer Orders received at UTY.  The ideal Customer Service Representative will have the following experiences:

·       Customer oriented

·       Prior customer service experience in the electronics distribution arena

·       Ability to work with as a liaison with Material Planners / Buyers.

·       Working knowledge of SAP

·       Goal oriented

·       A willingness to follow processes

·       Japanese language a plus.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for customer service support to ensure our customers' needs are met and to ensure products are delivered in a timely manner to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide customer service support by accepting and acknowledging orders, entering and verifying orders, confirming ship dates with follow up on shipments to customers.

2. Act as the primary liaison to the customer for all order, delivery and critical issues.

Requires strong customer relations and support via direct / regular contact with the customer.

3. Provide support by analyzing customer forecasts and required buffer stocks to support customers and meet on-time delivery.

4. Assists in inventory control activities by responding as necessary to ensure levels are adequate to meet customer demands.

5. Expediting orders when needed to meet customer requirements with the objective to prevent delinquent deliveries to the customer and assure the customer has full knowledge of critical situations.

6. Monitoring of electronic orders (EDI) submitted by the customer or via the customer’s on-line web enabled systems.

7. Monitor customer consignment inventory or customer websites. Assure stock levels meet the target levels set by the customer.

8. Provide support by coordinating with the customer, warehouse, accounting and sales departments to resolve customer account related problems.

9. Process debits memos, credits memos and RMA's between customer and Taiyo Yuden

10. Track RMA's to ensure timely returns from customer.

11. Act as team member and fill in for other CSR's as needed to assure full coverage on all customer accounts.

12. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of order management and sales concepts.

2. Knowledge of computer software, such as; SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel, and other software as required

3. Knowledge of procurement, material planning and inventory management concepts.

4. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.

5. Ability to communicate with co-workers, customers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.

6. Ability to work independently with general supervision.

7. Ability to speak Japanese, Spanish, Korean and Chinese a plus.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

AA degree and/or high school diploma with 3+ years in customer service or related.
